Jack Thompson spent his formative years in Maryland, eventually working his way to Savannah, GA where he received a BFA with a focus on photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. After a brief time in New York City, Thompson made his way to Texas where he resides today. Throughout his 20+ years of shooting portraits and interiors for a variety of editorial and advertising clients across the globe he has also pursued multiple personal and documentary projects with varying topics, from clean water and women’s health in Malawi to the National High School Rodeo Championships. One fun and possible notable fact is a collection of his portraits of Texas Rappers is on display and part of a larger collection of Rap and Hip Hop at The National Museum of African American History. Realizing a shift in his work, along with feelings of family and the passage of time and a serendipitous reunion with Nancy Littlejohn, Thompson is excited to venture forth into a more personal and artistic space.
